Opened in 1929, Ikoma Amusement Park is absolutely born to be the heaven in midair for children. With joyful animal shaped trains and cars running around immeasurably high tower, the park is completely new experience for those who have been familiar with traditional amusement park down on the ground. It is not only riding around but riding around in a certain height, over village, city, valley, hill and mountain. More than an amusement park, Japanese around visit Ikoma park for seeking some cool breeze in hot summer. The temperature here over the mountain is some 4 to 5 degrees cooler than the downtown, even windy in some cool day. More than the bustling atmosphere in daytime, the night of Ikoma is charming and mellow. From the mountain summit, you can see lights from vehicles, streets and buildings twinkling like millions dots of sparkles. Both Osaka and Nara city fall in this ocean of light, bobbing around the mountain and spreading over Nara basin and Osaka plains to Awaji island and Akashikaikyo bridge.

Ikoma Amusement Park features 27 different varieties of ride adventure and fans of roller coaster and thriller adventure are advised to look for somewhere else to satisfy their favorite because all of these rides are not so especially scary. The trains and boats are designed in lovely shape of animals or cartoon characters, looking like friendly partners waiting for your children for an amazing adventure. The top attraction of the park must be the Airplane tower. Reaching the height of 30 meters, it is believed to be the oldest and most remarkable flight tower across Japan. From the tower top, visitors can get the unbroken view of Osaka Bay. There is also the Dogs and Cats petting forest Ikoma where nearly 100 cute dogs and cats live and play.
