When the time shown on an electronic display board comes to zero, the show of lighting and laser will start brightly above the night view of Osaka. Laser rays of mainly green from pillars and walls around will illuminate the main wall with various shapes of line, curve and wave. Kitamido temple countdown
Kitamido temple belongs to the Honganji sect of Jodoshinshu True Pure Land School Buddhism. Kitamido seems to be one of the strangest temples around Japan with the unusual architecture of a giant modern hall lying high above a square. That is why the New Year Eve ceremony held at the temple is far different from those around other Japanese temples. It is not a solemn ritual but a vibrant countdown show. They will design a stage on the entrance of the temple with a gorgeous system of light and flares. Attendees will gather on the ground in front of the temple to enjoy the illumination show full of laser rays and light performances. The music will changed by time from exciting rhythm to gentle melody including traditional and folk music. Along with each kind of music, light will be displayed in different ways bringing to you many feelings of the past eventful year.
